Transportes Aéreos La Cumbre
La Cumbre
is one of several small business that started out using equipment
withdrawn from the Bolivian Air Force, in this case one C-46 (ex TAM-61)
retired in the early seventies. The civilian registration for this
aircraft was CP-1080, a few years later they introduced another Curtiss,
this time an ex VASP unit. There is mention of a third C-46,
though I have no further proof of that. Soon enough they bought two
DC-6A’s also from Brazil.
By the
mid-90s they only had one DC-6 and one C-46 operational, later on they
sold CP-1282 as a spare parts source for the
Frigorífico Santa Rita
fleet, the same happened to CP-1080, although this aircraft went on to
further users, and was grounded after a landing incident which
threatened the GAC-31 T-33 fleet.
CP-1282. -
This DC-6A/C
carries construction number 45530, and was incorporated to
La Cumbre
in March of 1977. Previously it belonged to Loide Aereo Nacional
of Brazil with the registry PP-LDF, for a time it was leased by
Panair do Brasil and finally went to VASP. The aircraft was
allocated DGAC file number #754, and a COA was issued or renewed on
9April91, its first technical inspection is listed as carried-out on
02Aug78. |
